Some places find you at exactly the right moment.
A little while ago I wrote about meeting Mea, who was kind enough to open her home and her beautiful garden to us so that we could hold our very first workshop there. On 21 August, that is exactly what happened.
It was warm, it was intimate, and it was something rather special. A small group, a table under the parasol, tools in hand, and a few hours where nobody looked at a screen. People arrived not knowing each other and left having made something with their own hands — and having talked properly, the way you only seem to when your hands are busy.
Why a garden matters
Craft Together happens outdoors, and that is the whole point. But the Dutch weather has opinions of its own. A garden like Mea’s gives us shelter without giving up the open air — somewhere we can still carve on a cool day, or when the rain comes in sideways, which it does.
Having a place like that changes what is possible. It means a workshop does not depend on a perfect forecast.

We are doing it again
It went well enough that we decided not to wait. The next workshop is on 30 August, in the same garden.
What I want to build is more moments like this one: real experiences, real connection, and a few hours away from screens — even if only for a little while.
